MacArthur needs many hands to make it a great school for our children. We are always looking for volunteers for the different activites and programs that happen throughout the year. If anything looks interesting to you, please check the boxes below (as many as you'd like) and this information will be sent to the program coordinators. Thank you!

Night with Neighbors: Host a social fundraising event of your choice in your neighborhood. (October)
Book Fair: Volunteers promote, set up, and staff this fun annual fundraising event. (October)
Dance Raffle: Work with a team to solicit donations, plan, and implement raffle for the family dance (Oct-March)
Thanksgiving Feast: Volunteers serve the annual Thanksgiving luncheon for students and their families. (November)
Science Fair: Volunteer to assist with this popular event! (December)
Family Dance: Volunteers sell tickets, refreshments, decorate and supervise. (March)
Ice Cream Social: Volunteers serve ice cream sundaes on the MacArthur playground for our community event. (June)
National Day of Service: Help plan and implement a family friendly group service project. (January)
Family Games Night: Help plan and implement a causal game night for families.
Work With Kids
Reflections Student Competition: Volunteers needed to help promote a wonderful program celebrating the arts, collect student artwork, help with after-school art-making sessions, deliver art to judges (Fall 2016) and help with a thank you reception. (January)
RIF Book Distribution: Set up and distribute a free book for every student. (November & March)
Kindergarten Science: Volunteers enhance the Kindergarten science curriculum with monthly fun, hands-on activities. (Begins October)
Spelling Bee: Volunteers are needed to help committee organize and execute this event . Assist with word calling, judging, and prep-work for this popular event. (May)
Learning Gardens Farm-to-Table Events: Volunteers help Kindergarteners harvest sweet potatoes and lettuces grown in MacArthur's garden! Volunteers help prep and serve to all MacArthur students during lunch. (October & Spring)
Work With Adults
Learning Gardens: Volunteers needed for general upkeep and to help with student garden lessons.
Teacher Cookie Swap: Organize a truckload of cookies donated from parents and set up a lovely buffet from which teachers may select. (December)
Staff Appreciation Week: Volunteers organize 2-3 meal events, plus MacArthur Staff Appreciation Week (May)
