We currently have the following positions open for the 2023-2024 school year:

 

*Full-time Sustainability and Environmental Education Teacher and Coordinator*
 

This position is for a Sustainability and Environmental Education Teacher and Coordinator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching sustainability, science, and environmental education to students ages 3 through 8th grade as well as leading and supporting the faculty in integrating these subjects in the classroom. Also included in this position is coordinating the following: school-wide sustainability action (such as composting and recycling), care of the aquaponics system, observational beehive, and school animals, care of the geodesic greenhouse, coordinating community service and field trips, coordinating the school’s participation in the Farmers Market and other town events, and facilitating/managing the outdoor environment on the school property. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

*Part-time Spanish Teacher*

This position is for a Part-time Spanish Teacher. Hours would be Tuesdays, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, plus paid planning. The main goal is to help students develop a love of Spanish, and to enjoy learning a foreign language. To that end, the teacher is responsible for creating engaging, hands-on and interactive lessons including field trips to use Spanish in everyday situations. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to providing instruction in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the Spanish language. Topics vary between grade levels, focusing on grammar, pronunciation, composition, spelling, vocabulary, and dialogue. Classes will be multiage groups from kindergarten through 8th grade.

*Part-time Visual and Performing Arts Teacher*

This position is for a Part-time Visual and Performing Arts Teacher. Hours would be Tuesdays, 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in, and the ability for, creative expression in visual and dramatic terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression. The Art Teacher will also guide the students to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations and to discover and develop talents of students in the field of visual and performing arts. In addition, the Art Teacher will coordinate a school-wide play and art auction with the support of other faculty.
