Home Concerts Series

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Concerts in Motion Youth Program Home Concerts Series. Concerts in Motion currently has 4 weekly opportunities for students to perform in home concerts. These concerts take place in the home of an older adult, many of whom are homebound and would otherwise not have access to live music. All concerts are supervised by a Concerts in Musician employee. A list of concerts is below:

1. Wednesdays on the UES at 5:00pm
This concert takes place on E. 64th St. between 1st and 2nd Ave. This recipient has dementia and uses a wheelchair. Both she and her husband enjoyed singing in their youth and are avid music lovers. There is a piano in the home.

2. Wednesdays on the UWS at 5:15pm
This concert takes place on 72nd St. at Central Park West. This recipient has lewy body dementia and uses a wheelchair. Both he and his wife greatly enjoy their weekly concerts and benefit greatly from them. There is a piano in the home.

3. Fridays on the UWS at 5:00pm
This concert takes place on Columbus Ave. between 93rd and 94th St. This recipient is visually impaired, but is very active. He enjoys getting up to dance during upbeat songs and sometimes we pull out his small bongo drums so that he can play along. He appreciates all genres of music and enjoys talking about music and drama. There is a piano in the home.

Students are able to acquire one hour of community service for each home concert performed. Please contact our team at youthcoordinator@concertsinmotion.org with any questions concerning community service hours verification.
