Opportunity Works Employer Interest Form

Opportunity Works is an 8-week paid internship program that runs year-round, serving suburban Cook County young adults who are not in school and not connected to employment. It is supported by the Office of Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and private funders. It connects young adults to sector-focused internships designed to address both distressed businesses recovering from economic repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and high rates of young adult unemployment in suburban Cook County. In 2022, the program will double its annual capacity, connecting 400 young adults who are out of school and unemployed to career pathways in high-demand, high growth industries. Interns are engaged in activity 20-25 hours per week and earn $15 per hour. The paid internships expose young adults to viable family-sustaining career pathways, expands their skill sets, and connects them to the training and resources they need to achieve long-term employment in Manufacturing; Information Technology; Healthcare; Transportation, Distribution
and Logistics and more.
