EMPLOYER QUESTIONNAIRE

Cook County Tourism Alive, Chicago’s North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau, Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association, Illinois Restaurant Association, Cook County Career Connector and the Illinois Department of Employment Security are excited to partner with the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (The Partnership) to host the first Hospitality Hires North (HHN) event! Thank you for registering for its Hospitality Hires Northshore Event being held on May 29, 2024. from 9am-3pm, at Hilton Orrington/Evanston. 

The purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain information about your company and your greatest hiring needs (top three positions) you will interview candidates for the event.  Please submit your completed questionnaire and employment opportunities by May 20, 2024.

Event Coverage Information (day of event):

Each registration entitles the employer to 1 event table, with 2 interviewers present.

What is your interview method(s), company representative to job candidate? *

Employer Commitment

No later than 2 weeks following the event, each participating employer will receive an Excel spreadsheet containing the names of each job seeker with whom the employer met. We require the outcome of each individual job seeker to be provided. If your sheet does not list everyone your team met with, please list any additional job seekers on the sheet, along with their outcomes.

It is our goal and purpose to collect and report on the status of all event interviews. It is REQUIRED that all employer partners report interview outcomes at the end of the hiring event and 30, 60 and 90 days after hire or candidate decisions.
 
Types of post-event data to be requested:
 
(1) Number of candidates interviewed, including confirmation of individuals by name;
(2) Number of candidates not hired, including confirmation of individuals by name;
(3) Number of candidates declined, including confirmation of individuals by name;
(4) Projected hire date for each candidate interview;
(5) Number of candidates retained for 30, 60 and 90 days or longer, including confirmation of individuals by name;
(6) Number of candidates who were not retained for 30 days, including confirmation of individuals by name.

Future Support Opportunities

Would you like to know more about other business services available via Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership Hospitality & Tourism Sector Center, and/or the American Job Centers located in your region in relation to the following:
a. On-the-Job Training (OJT) - Employer is reimbursed up to 90% of a new hire's wages for individuals hired who need additional assistance (training) acclimating to job requirements. *
b. Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP) - Employer-sponsored training program registered with Department of Labor to combine work-based learning and classroom learning. *
c. Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) - Employer provides customized training support for current employees who need updated credentials or job up-skilling: employer is reimbursed up to 50% of the training costs. *
d. Credentialing classes for the retail industry including the National Retail Federation Industry Fundamentals, Customer Service and Sales and Advanced Customer Service and Sales training programs. *
e. Credentialing classes for the hospitality industry including ServSafe Food Handling and Skills, Tasks and Results Training for Hospitality. *
f. Retail-Focused Skills Assessment - Skills assessment for current or potential employees to determine where additional training may be needed. *
g. Hiring/Recruiting Assistance - Referrals of pre-screened employment candidates based on position requirements and job description(s), and/or facilitate hiring events. *
h. Layoff event services *
