Hello student applicant! Are you ready to turn your talents and passions into a real business? Before you get started, carefully read the seven simple application instructions/steps below:

Step 1: Talk to your parent or guardian. You’ll need permission to participate. Specific student and parent/guardian contact information is required to complete the application.

Step 2: Parent and Applicant must each read and acknowledge informational statements regarding the program. You will need to access the Loudoun Chamber YEA! website and the Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

Step 3: Prepare written answers to the following two questions: (700 words max)

1: Why are you interested in learning about entrepreneurship?
2: Can you share a specific project or initiative you have undertaken that demonstrates your entrepreneurial mindset and skills?

Step 4: Prepare a brief essay (approximately 300 words) on the following topic:

Describe a situation when you demonstrated at least two of the following characteristics of successful entrepreneurs: persistence, inquisitiveness, tolerance for failure, innovation, competitiveness, commitment, strong management and organizational skills.

Step 5: In your opinion, rank the following in order of importance in a professional setting and explain your thought process: (500 words max)

Communicate with your team
Follow schedules and meet deadlines
Be an active and visible team leader
Be a problem-solver
Be an enthusiastic supporter

Step 6: Upload your most recent academic transcript or report card.

Step 7: Upload a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, sports coach, club advisor, religious leader, personal mentor, etc.

To be considered for the YEA! Class of 2025, all application materials will be due by 5 pm on June 10th. If qualified, you will be contacted for an in-person interview.

*Please note: If you are asked to be interviewed, interviews will be taking place in July/August of 2024. If you are unavailable during that time, please email Program Coordinator, Faith Shoup at fshoup@loudounchamber.org after you have submitted your application.
