Session Topics

All Creatures Great and Small: All hands on deck! This round floor discussion will allow the children to investigate, explore, and discover the individual animals of the learning center. There will be a few animal surprises!

Vet Tech Skills Lab I:  Learn about the tools our techs take on the road with them and how they are used!

Adoption: A Loving Option:  Did you know that all of the animals at our education center are rescues? During this lesson, students will learn the importance and value of pet adoption and the positive impact it has.

Alternative Veterinary Medicine:  Every good doctor has many tools in their toolbox to help patients. Today we will learn about non-traditional methods of healing.

Pet First Aid:  Learning about first aid for pets is so important. Students will learn small tricks of the trade to be prepared for small veterinary problems they might encounter at home. Students will learn what should go into an at home veterinary first aid kit.

What Are They Thinking? Intelligence of Animals:  Do you know which house pet can understand an average of 165 words? Or what animal is able to pick almost any lock? Learn all this and more as we explore the incredible intellectual abilities of animals!

Prehistoric vs. Modern Animals:  Are there still prehistoric animals alive today? Yes! Many animals that are alive today are descendants of prehistoric animals that roamed the earth millions of years ago! Students will learn about the prehistoric ancestors and their descendants and even make their own fossils

Wildlife Encounter:  What should you do if you find a baby bunny all alone? What’s the best thing to do if you come across a bird with a broken wing? Students will learn how to conduct themselves in the presence of wild animals.  Sick, injured, and healthy animals all react differently. Students will explore what they can do to keep wildlife safe.
