Welcome to the Fall Session II 2022!
Students will spend five weeks exploring many aspects of veterinary medicine in a hands-on, interactive way. All lessons will be taught at an age-appropriate level. Students should prepare for many special visitors AND unique activities! Our classes are perfect for all students, Pre-K through 12th grade, who love animals, science and learning.

Week 1: DNA Genetics
Students will learn what DNA is and how traits are inherited through a fun, hands-on activity.
Week 2: Mobile Vet Tech 101: Stocking
Being stocked for the day is important to being a successful mobile vet. The technicians have many key responsibilities. We will explore the necessary supplies and medications needed to bring to wellness and sick appointments through an interactive game.
Week 3: Wildlife Encounter
What should you do if you find a baby bunny all alone? What’s the best thing to do if you come across a bird with a broken wing? Students will learn how to conduct themselves in the presence of wild animals. Sick, injured, and healthy animals all react differently. Students will explore what they can do to keep wildlife safe.
Week 4: Pets and Pollution
Students will explore the various ways pollution affect the both owned pets and the animals who share our world. We will delve into how veterinary scientist work to combat this growing problem.
Week 5: Bioluminescence
Did you ever wonder how a firefly glows? Students will learn all about the causes of and reasons for the fascinating phenomenon of bioluminescence! Younger students will create their own glowing creatures and older students will observe and work with real living bioluminescent organisms!
