Pre-Vet Techs, Little Vet Techs & Ready Vet Go
Welcome to the Fall Session I 2020!
Students will spend five weeks exploring many aspects of veterinary medicine in a hands-on, interactive way. All lessons will be taught at an age-appropriate level. Our classes are perfect for all students who love animals, science and learning.
This session will run from the week of Sept. 14th through the week of Oct. 12th
***Please note - There will be no classes on Sept 18 & 19 for Rosh Hashana (makeup on Oct 23rd and Oct 24) and no classes on Sept 28 for Yom Kippur (makeup on Oct 19th)***
Check out this session’s class schedule:
Week 1: CPR: CPR can save the life of an animal. Obtaining the knowledge of how to perform CPR on an animal allows even non-veterinarians to save the life of an animal they love. Students will learn how to properly perform CPR on an animal, including using a full 10lbs. of pressure while doing it!
Week 2: Animal Eyes: Did you ever wonder what the world looks like through your pet’s eyes? What about a spider’s eyes? We will spend time exploring the visual abilities of a variety of our favorite animals.
Week 3: Tardigrades: Students learn about this amazing microscopic organism which can survive in all sorts of environments that are too extreme for most others and observe live specimens under the microscope
Week 4: TBA
Week 5: Animal Nutrition: Pets are what they eat too. Today we will learn the ABCs of pet nutrition and how good nutrition helps animals stay healthy. Students will prepare menus for some of our rescue resident animals and learn just how different nutritional needs are for everybody.
