All Creatures - All hands on deck! This workshop will allow the children to investigate, explore, and discover the individual animals of our education center. We will meet and greet a variety of fun and friendly animals!

Pet First Aid - Learning about first aid for pets is so important. Students will learn small tricks of the trade to be prepared for small veterinary problems they might encounter at home. Students will learn what should go into an at home veterinary first aid kit.

Suturing - Veterinarians use many different kinds of ties when they close wounds and incisions during surgery. Students will learn a variety of techniques and practice on our pretend patients.

Pets and Pollution - Students will explore the various ways pollution affects the pets we have as well as the animals in the world.  We will work together using VIT’s enviroscape to discover what exactly happens to pollution which is all around us, where it all goes, and why it matters to a veterinarian.

Snake ID - Are snakes venomous or poisonous? What’s the difference between the two? Where can you commonly find venomous snakes and how can you tell if a snake is venomous or not? Students will work through many scenarios to learn how to easily tell these creatures apart.

CPR - CPR can save the life of an animal. Obtaining the knowledge of how to perform CPR on an animal allows even non-veterinarians to save the life of an animal they love. Students will learn how to properly perform CPR on an animal, including using a full 10 pounds of pressure while doing it!
