Session Topics

All Creatures Great and Small: All hands on deck! This round floor discussion will allow the children to investigate, explore, and discover the individual animals of the learning center. There will be a few animal surprises!

Frogs are Fabulous: Students will learn about the frog life cycle with a fun, hands-on activity.

Differences and Similarities: Veterinarians need to know how to provide medical care for every type of animal! How can a vet treat both a cat and a lion? Today we will learn how that is possible, by learning the difference and similarities of each animal; we will work through a fun program of discovering how different and similar animals can be!

Planting for Pets: Students will learn about the important role of plants in the lives of our animal friends. We will even do some planting ourselves!

They Ate What? Radiology: Class II: Students love seeing all of the weird things that pets eat! In this second radiology class, we will examine more real x-rays and fascinating case studies and work together to answer the question….They ate what?!

Environmental Enrichment: Today we will learn how toys and environmental enrichment is crucial to the life of our animals. Students will have the chance to interact with our animals and find ways to make their life more fun!

Microscopes 101: Microscopes are invaluable tools to a veterinarian. Students will learn about what microscopes are and what they do to assist veterinarians practice medicine. Students will have the opportunity to use actual microscopes during this lesson.

Pet CPR: CPR can save the life of an animal. Obtaining the knowledge of how to perform CPR on an animal allows even non-veterinarians to save the life of an animal they love. Students will learn how to properly perform CPR on an animal, including using a full 10lbs. of pressure while doing it!
