Week 1: Pet Frist Aid - Learning about first aid for pets is so important. Students will learn small tricks of the trade to be prepared for small veterinary problems they might encounter at home. Students will learn what should go into an at home veterinary first aid kit.
Week 2: Babies, Babies, Babies - Who can resist animal babies? This class will teach students to identify baby animals and understand the survival instincts of parent animals.
Week 3: Grooming - Students will be hands-on learning to groom animals from head to toe! Brushing, bathing, dental care, and nail clipping are all important aspects of pet care. Students will have the opportunity to work on these grooming skills with a variety of species.
Week 4: Snake ID - Are snakes venomous or poisonous? What’s the difference between the two? Where can you commonly find venomous snakes and how can you tell if a snake is venomous or not? Students will work through many scenarios to learn how to easily tell these creatures apart.
Week 5: Animal Husbandry - Husbandry is more than just feeding animals and giving them proper shelter. Zoo’s, aquariums, animal shelters, pet boarding businesses, and more all must have good animal husbandry practices in order to keep animals safe and healthy. Students will learn all that goes into animal husbandry!
