Wellness Exams - Learn all about what a veterinarian does during a routine wellness exam. Students will be responsible for checking up on an animal, filling out a wellness worksheet, and logging all the health information into our log book.
Restraint Lab - Students will learn how and why veterinarian staff must restrain pets during exams and procedures. Students will have the opportunity to see how restraining an animal can actually help keep them calm and safe.
Nutrition - Pets are what they eat too. Today we will learn the ABCs of pet nutrition and how good nutrition helps animals stay healthy. Students will prepare menus for some of our rescue resident animals and learn just how different nutritional needs are for everybody.
Scoop on Poop - Everybody poops! If you think all animal poop is the same, you’re in for a big surprise! Learn about the difference between various animal poops and how they make it and how veterinarians use fecal samples to diagnose illnesses.
Sterile Procedures - Keeping things sterile avoids life threatening problems. Students will learn about sterility, participate in a lab on surgical prep and practice our sterility in mock procedures.
Close Encounters - Learn how to safely approach animals and which animals are the deadliest in the world!
