Microscopes 101: Microscopes are invaluable tools to a veterinarian.  Students will learn about what microscopes are and what they do to assist veterinarians practice medicine.  Students will have the opportunity to use actual microscopes during this lesson.

They Ate What? Radiology: You would not believe the weird things that pets eat! Students will examine real x-rays and case studies and work together to answer the question….They ate what?!?

Vet Tech Skills Lab I: Learn about the tools our techs take on the road with them and how they are used! 

Owl Pellet Dissection: Students will learn about the digestive system of an owl and other birds of prey through their pellets.  **No animals were harmed for this dissection lesson.**

Carbon Footprint: What is a carbon footprint? This is the amount of carbon dioxide and other carbon compounds emitted due to the consumption of fossil fuels by a particular person, group, etc.  Students will look at their carbon footprints and learn how they can do their part to help the environment.

Pet First Aid Learning about first aid for pets is so important. Students will learn small tricks of the trade to be prepared for small veterinary problems they might encounter at home. Students will learn what should go into an at home veterinary first aid kit.

Pet CPR: CPR can save the life of an animal. Obtaining the knowledge of how to perform CPR on an animal allows even non-veterinarians to save the life of an animal they love. Students will learn how to properly perform CPR on an animal, including using a full 10lbs. of pressure while doing it!

Grooming 101: Students will be hands-on learning to groom animals from head-to-toe! Brushing, bathing, dental care & nail clipping are all important aspects of pet care.  Students will have the opportunity to work on these grooming techniques with a variety of species.
