Join us for one, two, or three classes in a row on any given day!

Each $15, 1-hour class includes a fun lesson and

animal interaction time with our friendly live animals!

Monday 4/12

Morning Classes:

10-11am Frogs are Fabulous: Students will learn about the frog life cycle with a fun, hands-on activity.

11am-12pm Animal Adaptations:  Why do hedgehogs have spines and fish have scales? Students will learn about how adaptations help a variety of species survive and thrive!

12-1pm Babies! Babies! Babies!:  Who can resist animal babies? This class will teach students about animal babies within the 5 most well-known animal classes of vertebrates including: mammals, amphibians, avian, reptiles, and fish.

 

Afternoon Classes:

Wednesday 4/14

10-11am Close Encounters of the Animal Kind:  Learn about how to safely approach animals, and which animals are the deadliest in the world!

11am-12pm Bearded Dragon Basics:  Dragons are real - but they’re not what you think! Learn all about these lovable lizards and what makes them so unique. 

12-1pm Planting for Pets:  Students will learn about the important role of plants in the lives of our animal friends. We will even do some planting ourselves!

10-11am Differences and Similarities:  Veterinarians need to know how to provide medical care for every type of animal! How can a vet treat both a cat and a lion? Today we will learn how that is possible, by learning the difference and similarities of each animal; we will work through a fun program of discovering how different and similar animals can be!

11am-12pm Everything Elephants:  Explore the world of these gentle giants and create a unique elephant to take home with you!

12-1pm  Animal Behavior:  Anti-Bullying Workshop:  Children can learn important life-lessons by studying animal behavior. Through real-life examples of non-human animal behavior, children will come to the agreement that bullying is unacceptable and that true leadership comes with demonstrating kindness, patience, empathy, and understanding.

10-11am Marine Animals:  Do sharks dream of chasing other fish?  Do whales sneeze?  Who is the principal of a school of fish?  These and many other questions will be answered as we look at our animal friends in the deep blue ocean.

11am-12pm Insect Investigation:  Insects are animals! And did you know there are more insects on the Earth than all other animals combined?! We will learn all about these not-so-creepy crawlies and talk about what makes them  different from you and me. 

12-1pm Virtual Field Trip! Therapy Dog Training:  What does a therapy dog do? How do they learn to do it? Learn all this and more as we go on the road with Miss Jasmine for a virtual field trip to meet with Casey and her therapy dogs at Country Haven Kennels

11am-12pm Prehistoric vs. Modern Animals:  Are there still prehistoric animals alive today? Yes! Many animals that are alive today are descendants of prehistoric animals that roamed the earth millions of years ago! Students will learn about the prehistoric ancestors and their descendants and even make their own fossils!

12-1pm Wildlife Encounter:  What should you do if you find a baby bunny all alone? What’s the best thing to do if you come across a bird with a broken wing? Students will learn how to conduct themselves in the presence of wild animals.  Sick, injured, and healthy animals all react differently. Students will explore what they can do to keep wildlife safe.

10-11am Habitats: Different animals require different environments to thrive and be healthy.  After learning about the most common types of habitats, students will create their own imaginary animal and build the perfect habitat to suit their animal’s needs.

11am-12pm The Facts on Ferrets:  Students will learn all about these fun and fascinating creatures with our Vets in Training educator and our friendly ferrets, Harvey and Georgina!

12-1pm Intro to Dentistry:  Veterinarians can do a wide array of dental procedures. Students will learn about the basics of veterinary dentistry, including common ailments, tools, and procedures.
