Welcome to the Spring Session II 2022!
Students will spend five weeks exploring many aspects of veterinary medicine in a hands-on, interactive way. All lessons will be taught at an age-appropriate level. Students should prepare for many special visitors AND unique activities! Our classes are perfect for all students, Pre-K through 12th grade, who love animals, science and learning.

**No class on Memorial Day 5/30, makeup on 6/20**

Week 1: Butterflies: This session we will observe the butterfly life cycle by raising our own butterflies! Did you know that the world’s smallest butterfly is the size of a child’s thumbnail? Or that some butterflies are poisonous? Students will gain a new understanding of these beautiful creatures, and create butterfly feeders to take home!
Week 2: They Ate What? Radiology Class III: They Ate What? Radiology: Class III
Description: Just when you think you’ve seen it all! Students will work together to analyze real life case studies and x-rays to determine the wacky and unexpected answer to the question….They ate what?!?
Week 3: Pet First Aid: Learning about first aid for pets is so important. Students will learn small tricks of the trade to be prepared for small veterinary problems they might encounter at home. Students will learn what should go into an at home veterinary first aid kit.
Week 4: Sterile Procedures: Keeping things sterile avoids life threatening problems. Students will learn about sterility, participate in a lab on surgical prep and practice our sterility in a mock procedure where they will dress up and play vet!
Week 5: Dr. Matt’s Surgery Simulation: You are the vet in this hands-on mock surgery! Students will work as a team to prep the patient for surgery, then locate and remove the appropriate organs!
