Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a 2-day suicide first aid interactive workshop for community caregivers. ASIST provides practical training for caregivers seeking to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Participants learn how to: recognize invitations for help, reach out and offer support, review the risk of suicide, apply the ASIST model of suicide intervention, and link people with community resources. Participants also have the opportunity to practice and implement the model in multiple role-play scenarios.

This workshop is Sponsored by The Louisiana Partnership for Youth Suicide Prevention and the Louisiana Office of Behavioral Health.

There is no charge for this very valuable training (valued @ $300 per person). All fees are being paid by the LA Office of Mental Health, SAMHSA and CMHS.   Pre-registration is Required
